Dry Needling
A targeted technique to reduce muscle tension and relieve pain.
Dry needling is used to treat tight or overactive muscles that may be contributing to pain, stiffness or restricted movement. At Bondi Platinum Physio, it is delivered by our specially trained and accredited physiotherapists.
While it uses the same fine needles as acupuncture, the approach is different - dry needling is grounded in Western musculoskeletal and anatomical principles rather than traditional Chinese medicine pathways. It focusses on releasing tight muscles and trigger points and can be highly effective for a wide range of conditions, including TMJ dysfunction, neck and lower back pain, as well as muscle tightness and tendon-related issues in the calf, Achilles, shoulder, knee, ankle and hip.
At Bondi Platinum Physio, dry needling is used as part of a broader treatment approach. It is combined with hands on therapy, exercise and movement work to address both the symptoms and the underlying cause of the issue.
